Calicia Johnson is the founder of Student Career Studio, Incorporated (SCS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping collegiate students discover career opportunities beyond what their campus career centers typically provide. SCS focuses on bridging the gap for underrepresented students by offering access to valuable resources such as scholarships, internships, and leadership development opportunities.
Through its efforts, Student Career Studio has created pathways for students to explore career prospects that may not be readily available through traditional campus services. The organization is committed to increasing access and exposure to career-building opportunities, particularly for students attending both two-year and four-year colleges and universities.
Since its founding in 2020, Student Career Studio has awarded over $65,000 in scholarships to underrepresented students in the US. These scholarships help empower the next generation of leaders, providing them with the resources they need to succeed academically and professionally.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Calicia received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Florida A&M University and her Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University.
