About this speaker

I am a Howard University graduate, with a Bachelors of Architecture. In school, I was able to quench my sense of adventure by playing rugby and studying abroad in France and Australia. After graduating and working domestically for 5 years, I decided that the 9 to 5 thing just wasn't for me. So I quit my job and bought a one way ticket to Singapore on a mission to travel around the world. Over the course of 18 months, I traveled to 15 different countries and resolved to turn my passion for travel and volunteering into a new career. I subsequently joined Doctors Without Borders and worked as a Logistics and Construction Manager on 7 international assignments. Realizing that I wanted something more permanent (and higher paying!), I switched gears again and became a contractor for the US Department of State. In my role as a Operations and Maintenance Transition Coordinator, I assist Facilites teams at existing consulates and embassies with learning how to operate and maintain their new state of the art compounds. Additionally, my travels have taken me to 65 different countries, and counting!
