Karla’s expat journey began 15 years ago when she merged my love for global adventures with my background in international affairs. She has used her career to take her across the world, living on three continents and in ten countries outside the USA.

As a Third Culture Kid (TCK) with Caribbean roots, she has lived in eleven countries, including the USA. Can you guess the others? My career and entrepreneurship ventures have allowed me to work in six countries, spend extended periods in three others, and travel to more than 50 for cultural exploration and personal growth.

The adventure began in 2007 when she transitioned into international higher education with her first role in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Since then, she has embraced the expat life, with a brief two-year return to the U.S. Her global career and travels are rich sources of diverse experiences that have fueled her passion for writing – share stories and advice about expat living via Medium.com blog.

Over time, friends and colleagues who followed Karla’s journey started reaching out for advice about their own journeys—whether it was a dinner conversation, a conference discussion, or a phone call. One of my proudest moments was guiding a close friend to secure a student affairs position in Australia. These informal coaching sessions were the seeds of what is now The Career Expat by Roseapple Global.

Helping others achieve their dreams of living and working abroad became incredibly fulfilling. In 2019, Ms. Fraser launched Roseapple Global, LLC—a boutique firm specializing in expat career coaching for aspiring expatriates and consulting services for higher education institutions and organizations.

Karla understands the growing global demand for experts in their fields, especially in emerging nations. Thus, her objectives are simple yet impactful: to prepare and guide career professionals to pursue international opportunities by using their existing career experience and expertise.

With insights gained from working and living in six diverse countries, she is equipped to help career individuals achieve their international move goals.

When she is not coaching career professionals or consulting with educational organizations, she enjoys beach locations, visiting historical sites, reading, watching movies, being creative in the kitchen, and conversing about trending current events during her leisure time.
