About this speaker

Kindall Tyson spent six years living and working in Beijing, traveling the globe meeting new people, and extolling the benefits of prioritizing mental health and wellness. As a Licensed Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, Professional School Counselor, and National Certified Counselor, she is impassioned by assisting people to lead more authentic and fulfilling lives. As the owner of Aspire Counseling and Wellness Center, PLLC, she’s able to offer culturally responsive support to underrepresented communities, globally.

Not only does Kindall operate her international therapy and consulting practice, but she also founded a podcast in 2023, The Black Expat Experience, where she connects with Black expats across the world, listens to their experiences moving abroad, listens to them share their stories, thoughts and feelings and experiences with mental health, and listens to them describe how they impact their community. She joins with her guests and they journey through their life. She recently joined the ALIVE podcast network and hopes to continue connecting, listening to, and joining with Black expats and immigrants the world over.

Kindall ventured into her international experience as a Secondary Professional School Counselor in Beijing while operating her business, hosting mental health brunches, and consulting part-time. During her six years in Beijing, Kindall was afforded myriad opportunities to collaborate with several organizations, collaborators, and communities about mental health while playing an integral role in helping to break the stigma associated with mental illness within communities of the global majority.

While entrepreneurship is not for everyone, Kindall has recognized the freedom, self-awareness, and increased creativity that working for herself has afforded her. There are more opportunities to collaborate with the community, to mentor adolescents, to help grow school counselors and professional counselors, and share with the world culturally relevant messaging about mental health.

Kindall recognizes the importance of the gifts of connection and community.  Through her work, she aims to help facilitate the process of illumination, self-discovery, and goal setting with empathy and collaboration. Kindall states that, “Helping others was my passion long before it ever became my career. I am determined to make a lasting impact in the lives of others and live a fulfilled life of integrity, growth, and resilience.”
