Entrepreneur, HR IT Consultant, Transaĝo Worldwide Michael has lived in 6 countries with more than 20 years of experience as a seasoned expat. Having garnered dual-citizenship and eventually making the decision to renounce his original citizenship, Michael refers to himself as an immigrant of the chosen country he now calls home.

About this speaker

Originally born in New York to parents of Jamaican descent, Michael has experienced living in 6 different countries outside of the US of A as a military brat, graduate business school exchange student, a skilled migrant, and now as a self-employed technology professional.

Leaving JFK New York on 31st December 2008 and arriving at Heathrow London on 1st January 2009, Michael made the decision to permanently leave the United States and was able to make that dream a reality after being granted a Tier 1 visa from the UK as a highly-skilled migrant. After several years of residency in the UK, Michael earned dual-citizenship status which enabled him to take advantage of professional opportunities in continental Europe before the UK decided to leave the European Union (Brexit). After Brexit, Michael decided to remain in continental Europe.

Michael has not only traveled extensively as a technology professional but has also traveled extensively in support of his musical endeavors as a budding recording artist by performing at various events throughout Europe as well as creating a few music videos in Malta and the United Kingdom.

Michael is an accounting / business administration graduate of the illustrious HBCU, Florida A&M University (go Rattlers!) and a MBA graduate of Penn State University (go Nittany Lions!).

Michael currently resides in Barcelona where, with his spouse of 16 years and their faithful Black Lab Neo, they operated an independent premium pet food store called Furry Chefs for 2 years.
